Suiko Reborn

#4 of my Message armor series...and oof, this one took me a while. The first attempt with a different pose looked really awkward, so I had to scrap that and start all over. This one still isn't ideal, and I'm not entirely happy with it, but honestly, it's probably about as good as I'm going to get when I have so few references to work with. The pose is mostly based off the cover of the second Message film book, just with Suzunagi and the armor's surcoat removed, and I changed Shin's expression/appearance from how it was in the original cover image.

On top of having trouble getting some decent lineart down, I was really bad at keeping going on this piece. I started on it in probably late August or so, but didn't finally do the finishing touches and declare it done until the day of this posting. Blame real life and many other projects getting in the way for that and for how it's just not quite as good as I'd have liked. The one part I do like about how this turned out, though, is the main light blue parts of the armor; I was kinda playing that by ear because of the lack of references, but I rather like how the shading/blending gives it a sort of metallic sheen that isn't really in the other ones I've done so far in this series.

Just one more to go of these...and goodness knows when I'll get to that one.

(And gods help me, I think I may want to cosplay this armor one of these days... x_x)
